This past weekend Chris and I left for Spokane late in the morning on Saturday, met up with Maggie of DeniseBrain and her husband for a drink Saturday night, wandered around Spokane Sunday morning, went to The Farm Chicks Show and arrived home late Sunday night.
Here are some photos from our trip.
All the photos are from Spokane except the top two which are of a huge John Wayne look alike in Umatilla...
We enjoyed our stay at the renovated Montvale Hotel (1005 W. 1st Ave.)
The Fox Theater (1001 W. Sprague Ave.)is across the street from the Montvale Hotel. It is an Art Deco delight on the outside, and from photos that I have seen, the interior is spectacularly superb! Pink Martini is playing a sold out show here at the end of June.
The Chronicle/Review building.
Frank's Diner (1516 W. 2nd Ave.) has good food and great service all located inside an old train car.
Each seat at the counter has it's own wood inlaid place mat in front of it.
Dick's Hamburgers (10 E. 3rd Ave.) has incredibly inexpensive fast food.
spokane is like Art Deco heaven! oh my!
Yes! Spokane has beautiful buildings from the early part of the 20th century, as well as some fun neon signs and roadside attractions from the later half of the century!- Lulu

Your finds in Spokane are so cool--well done Lulu! I hope there's a way you can get in to see the Fox's interior next time you're here.
Yes, I would love to be able to time a trip to Spokane to see the interior of the Fox! -Lulu
